Best way to arrive Keihoku area is by JR bus leaving from Kyoto Station.
In order to make 8:30 tour, you will need to take a bus leaves Kyoto station at 6:45.
Fare to Keihoku from Kyoto station is 1080 yen for adult 540 yen for kids. They take cash and pre-paid IC cards such as ICOCA, SUICA or PASMO.
If you have a valid Japan Rail pass or JR West Rail pass, you don't have to pay the fare.
In case you miss the bus, you will need to take a taxi which will cost approximately 13000yen.
It is not hard to find a JR bus stop at Kyoto station.
Arrive early, make sure you find a right bus stop.

From JR central gate, you will see a Kyoto Tower,

Take JR bus(Blue) for Shuzan
You need to take a bus leaves at 6:45 to make 8:30 tour

JR bus is Blue and White.
Make sure you take JR bus.

When you take a bus, take a numbered ticket at rear door.
You will need the ticket when you pay the fare.

Get off at Keihoku-Godo-chousha-mae
Get off the bus at Keihoku-Godo-chosha-mae,
Make sure with a bus driver you get off at right stop.

Across the street use underground passage
You will find SDGs Kotos building across the street. For your safety please take underground passage to cross the road.
